2012 was full of changes. We welcomed the sweetest baby in the world into our family, not knowing just what a huge void she would fill, one we didn’t even realize was there, yet she fit so perfectly in it. It’s hard to remember what life was like before her! We moved to a new neighborhood, gaining some much needed space and amazing neighbors (although we certainly miss our old ones- and I will be stopping by with those cookies soon, Laura!!).
Sophia started kindergarten, Madison started her last year of preschool and Nick & Paul went off to college. It was a big year here.
The last few months have been rough for our family, as you know. We have never felt the pain that we are going through right now, and as I put this video together tonight I almost felt guilty as I watched the happy faces and laughter, because our family is experiencing such tremendous grief right now, and it just doesn’t seem fair to celebrate the good times. But it helps to see the smiles, it reminds us that there is still a lot of life around us, a lot we have to be thankful for. The pain won’t go away, but, thankfully, neither will the memories we made. And this family is really fantastic at making memories. Just watch the video and see for yourself.
