meet Brittney

When I first started Amy Salessi Photography, I knew this was it for me, that this would end up being my life long career. There is absolutely nothing else I would rather do than what I am doing.

However, like any job, there are parts of it that aren’t as much fun as the other parts. Invoicing clients. Blah. I hate that part. Did I just use the word “invoicing”? I think I have actually typed up a real invoice for a client – maybe 10 times? My regular clients are all nodding their heads right now, right? Typically, an “invoice” from me is a text or an email with what you owe. This, I have found, makes my end of year tax preparations pretty hard (just ask Paul, who has been keeping me on top of my bookkeeping this year. He tries to hide his frustration with it, but I know it drives him crazy to have to sort through emails and texts to figure it all out. Sorry kid.)

But, it is the beginning of the year, and with that comes the chance for change. Time to start fresh, to get organized. Time to start taping my receipts to paper and filing them away (I did this last year for ONE whole month – let’s see if I can make it to June this year. Small steps.)

It is time to set goals for myself this year. For the business. First up on my list was to bring someone else on that could help take some of the little tasks away from me so that I have more time to do the parts I love, mainly so I have more time for sessions.

I have done just that. I am so excited to introduce you to Brittney, my new girl (or officially, I think we are going with Assistant in charge of Sales & Marketing, snazzy isn’t it?)

You might already know or recognize her. She is my little brother’s girlfriend, and since I am 100% confident she will be around for a looooong time, and I have seen the energy she brings to everything she does, I know she is going to help me do big things.

Brittney will be taking over client ordering sessions to start with. She has an eye for decorating, and she will be such a huge help for you in deciding what to order and where to hang it all in your homes. She will assist with the invoicing and package and deliver your prints. I haven’t been able to fully commit to in home ordering sessions with every client, and now we can! I can’t wait for you to meet her. She is going to be a huge help to me.

I will also be utilizing the help of some other businesses throughout the year, and you might see me mention them from time to time. It takes a team to do this, I have learned! I have several things in the works, including some updates to my website (I am embarrassed to admit my About Me page says I am due with our 5th child in March. Poor Hannah.), new pricing guides, and my brand new packaging just arrived on our doorstep yesterday.

As always, thank you for your support. I am always blown away by the amount of repeat clients I have. Some of you booked 4, 5 or even 6 sessions with me last year! I love you all.

Let’s do this 2013. It’s going to be a fun year!
