Hi! I'm Amy.
I was the kid who brought a throw away camera everywhere. I still have boxes and boxes of printed pictures from church camp, birthday parties, and even just regular nights out as a teenager, that I love to go through every now and then. I was the first of all our friends to buy a digital camera (over 17 years ago!), and that camera went with me everywhere when the kids were little. Eventually, I decided to turn my love for photography into a career, and it was the best decision ever.
I’m the wife to a pretty fantastic guy, Bob, who not only runs a restaurant company but somehow finds time to coach softball and cook for us on a pretty regular basis. We have 5 kids. Nick & Paul (twins!), Sophia (16), Madison (15) and Hannah (11), and last year I became a mother-in-law to Ashley. This Spring we will add one more daughter in law when Paul marries Lyn. Our house is chaotic and crazy and overflowing with love.
I take my job as the “memory keeper” in our family very seriously, and my pictures don’t just live on the cloud. I make an effort to print yearly photo albums of all the big – and small- moments throughout the year. There are gorgeous spreads with pictures from carefully planned out photo shoots, but to be honest, I’m just as grateful for all the pictures I pull off my phone, too. Any chance to grab the moment I will take and proudly display those pictures. They are often my favorites. The real story of our everyday life. Give me moments over perfection any day!
I feel the same way about your family pictures. Yes, you are investing in a session and have high expectations. So do I, I promise. I will walk you through everything you need, from choosing your outfits to the perfect location, but when it comes down to it, none of that is as important as just being there in the moment.
Let’s have some fun and go make some incredible memories together. I promise it will be worth it!
Thank you to My Four Hens Photography for the beautiful images of our family.
I can remember the very first family I photographed as clearly as I remember the one I photographed yesterday. Every client is special to me. Your stories are important, and I want to show you just that. I want you to look at your images and see the beauty that can sometimes feel lost in the chaos of raising children. I want our time together to be sacred. A safe place where you can come AS YOU ARE. Just show up and let me capture all of it- the joy, the fun, even the mess. While my goal is to deliver you a mixed of traditional posed and lifestyle images, my most favorite moments are the ones that just happen in front of me. The magic that I get back from you when I step back and let you be. That’s the good stuff.
