This hands on workshop is always so much fun! No knowledge is necessary. Just bring your DSLR camera, the manual that came with it (if you don’t have it we can always look it up online), and any lenses you own. I will show you everything you need to know to take your camera OFF the Auto setting to create beautiful images of your children. We will talk about how to find the best light, tips for shooting indoors, how to capture natural, beautiful expressions, focus techniques, and just how I create that dreamy background blur. You will get a peek at my editing process and workflow. There is plenty of time for questions, and I try my best to answer them all! We will also spend some time discussing how to organize, print and backup your photos so they don’t just live on your computer. This workshop is small and intimate, and I promise you will walk away inspired!

Amy was so amazing, and warm from the second I started communicating with her. She’s been extremely helpful in answering any questions I may have, or offering any cc with any photos I’ve posted. I hope to mentor with her in the future!

Amy is very patient and understanding when it comes to working with beginners and she will show you the basic fundamentals of how to setup your camera, work with clients for utmost satisfaction, and work with you to compose a photo and what to look for. She also will let you try out things on your own and if you make a mistake she will help you understand what happened so you don’t likely repeat it in the future. She’s been very helpful in my part-time photography career and also has been my friend for over 25 years.

I took Amy’s workshop in February 2017. Love, love, loved it!! Amy is easy to follow and breaks the information down into simple steps. Whether you are brand new to photography or have some experience, you will definitely learn a lot! Most importantly…she’s available to answer all of your questions…I HIGHLY recommend this workshop!!

Did this workshop 4 years ago after playing with my dslr that I finally took out of its box 6+ months after an impulse buy at Costco. I had gone through a Pioneer Woman 4-part online tutorial then took Amy’s workshop which tied everything together for me. I needed a bunch of questions answered and she provided the insight I needed. Plus it was fun with opportunity to practice after instruction. Totally worth it. Now I use a full frame dslr and I’ve done other mentoring sessions with Amy that were also worth every penny.

I highly recommend Amy’s beginners workshop. She was so kind and amazing at helping me get to know my camera. I left her workshop with so much more understanding on how to take better photos. If you’re thinking of taking this workshop, you won’t be sorry. I’m looking forward to 1 on 1 mentoring in the future.
